Sam loves herself, learning, and making her family and friends laugh. She also loves comfortable seats, including a graceful couch named after Misty Copeland and Laney, the sassy backseat of Mom’s car.

The story, about loving yourself, laughter, and the importance of rest, follows a girl with cerebral palsy who goes back-to-school shopping with her best friends. Publication is scheduled for fall 2022; Alexander Slater at Trident Media Group represented the author, and Monica Odom at Odom Media Management represented the illustrator.
